When you download an MIT OCW course via the "Download course" feature, your web browser will download a .zip file containing a local copy of the OCW course site. This .zip file contains the same content (except for any video files) as the online version of the course. They allow you to review OCW materials on your computer even when you're not online.
Notes:
- Video files are not included in the .zip file. You must specifically download any video files you want to have locally from the course site's download page. You can view downloaded video files with any appropriate app, but you won't be able to view videos in-line with the course content of your downloaded copy
- The .zip package currently does not work on mobile devices
How to open the course
1. Unzip the downloaded file and double-click on “index.html.” This will open the course homepage in your browser.
2. If you want to access the course resource files, such as PDFs, MS Word, and LaTeX documents, code, and data files, go to the “static_resources” folder.
