The Universal AI program offers digital certificates to recognize learners who successfully complete its Modules and Courses.
Universal AI certificates are provided in digital form only. They are not available in printed or "hard copy" form, although you are more than welcome to download and create printed copies of your own.
We also encourage you to showcase your Universal AI certificates on your resume or CV, applications for work or school, and professional networking platforms like LinkedIn and others. Certificates from MIT Open Learning are recognized globally, and many employers, educational institutions, and professional networks value the rigorous curriculum and high standards upheld by Open Learning programs and courses. Whether you are seeking new job opportunities, aiming to advance in your current career, or pursuing further education, displaying your certificate can enhance your credibility and set you apart from other candidates.
Note: The Universal AI program is not degree- or license-granting, and does not carry academic credit. Universal AI certificates do not imply or confer any academic standing and are not interchangeable for any undergraduate or graduate academic credit.
Types of Universal AI Certificates:
- Universal AI Module Certificate: Awarded upon completion of a Universal AI Foundations Module
- Universal AI Course Certificate: Awarded upon completion of every Module belonging to a Universal AI Foundations Course, and upon completion of a Universal AI Vertical Course
- Universal AI Program Certificate: Awarded upon completion of Universal AI Foundations Courses 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5
"Completion" of a Universal AI Course or Module means meeting its completion criteria, as defined here.
Certificate Eligibility Criteria & Availability Timeline
Learners who purchase Universal AI content, via any purchase method, are eligible to earn certificates for that content (except for Foundations Course 1). All Universal AI certificates can only be earned during an active Subscription Period.
| Universal AI Foundations Course 1 and its Modules do not award certificates in any circumstances. The individual Modules do not award Module Certificates upon completion, and the Course does not award a Course Certificate upon completion of all its Modules. However, the completion criteria for these items is otherwise identical to the other Foundations Courses and Modules. For more information, see this FAQ article |
The MIT Learn learning platform typically issues certificates for Self-Paced learning resources like Universal AI within approximately 24 hours of meeting the Completion Criteria.
For Universal AI Foundations Modules and Universal AI Vertical Courses, this means that once you submit Coursework that increases your Total Course Score to the passing grade (60% or more), as shown on your Courseware's Progress Page, you can expect that your Module Certificate or Course Certificate will become available within 24 hours.
For Universal AI Foundations Courses, you must complete all of a Course's component Modules. This means that once you achieve a passing score for the last remaining Module, you can expect that your Course Certificate will become available within 24 hours.
To earn the overall Universal AI Program Certificate, you must complete Foundations Courses 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. This means that once you achieve a passing score for the last remaining Module in your last remaining Foundations Course, you can expect that your Program Certificate will become available within 24 hours.
How to Access Your Universal AI Certificates
Once you've earned a Universal AI certificate, you can access it from your MIT Learn Dashboard. For more information, see this FAQ article about how to access your Universal AI certificates.
What If Your Certificate Doesn't Become Available As Expected?
If you believe you should have received a Universal AI certificate, but it has not become available yet, we ask that you double-check to ensure that you have actually met the completion criteria (as described above and in this FAQ article in more detail). If you're sure, we ask that you wait for at least a few days before reaching out to the Support Team. Most problems of this kind resolve themselves automatically, and once the learning platform catches up, it should issue your certificate.
However, if you are sure that you have met the completion criteria and have waited for more than one business week, and you still cannot see your certificate, please reach out to the Universal AI Support Team for further assistance by clicking the "Contact Us" button below, or clicking this link! Be sure to include specific information about your situation, including the exact name of the Universal AI Module or Course affected.
