The Universal AI program is split into two different parts, Foundations and Verticals, containing Courses and Modules.
Foundations Courses
Each Universal AI Foundations Course is a shell containing around 3-4 different Foundations Modules, which contain all of the Course Content and Coursework. The Foundations Courses are listed on the Universal AI Program Page in the "Required Courses" category.
Vertical Courses
Each Universal AI Vertical Course, although referred to as a "course", is currently structured differently than a Foundations Course. Instead of containing multiple Modules, each Vertical Course is essentially a single Module, which contains all of the Course Content and Coursework. The Vertical Courses are listed on the Universal AI Program Page in the "Industry-specific Verticals" category.
Course and Module Completion Criteria
To "complete" a Universal AI Course or Module, you must meet its completion criteria, as defined here. It is important to note that, because the Universal AI Foundations Courses and Vertical Courses are structured differently (despite both being referred to as "courses"), the completion criteria is different for these two items.
- To complete a Foundations Course, you must earn a passing Total Course Score (60% or more) for all of its component Foundations Modules. Completion of a Foundations Course awards a Course Certificate—except for Foundations Course 1 (details below)
- To complete a Foundations Module or a Vertical Course, you must submit Coursework to achieve a passing Total Course Score (60% or more). Completion awards a Module Certificate or Course Certificate—except for the Foundations Course 1 Modules (details below)
Only learners who have purchased Universal AI content are eligible to earn certificates of any kind for that content, and certificates can only be earned during an active Subscription Period. Foundations Course 1 and its Modules do not award any certificates (see here for more information).
Foundations Course 1 and Its Modules Do Not Award Certificates
Universal AI Foundations Course 1 and its Foundations Modules do not award either Module Certificates or a Course Certificate, but the completion criteria for both is identical to the other Foundations Courses and Modules.
Although they do not award certificates, completion of Foundations Course 1 and its Modules is required to complete the Universal AI Program and earn the Program Certificate.
Completing Coursework
Each Foundations Module and each Vertical Course contains Course Content, including lecture videos, Coursework, and more within its Courseware—the learning platform environment. You will need to master this material and complete graded Coursework to earn a passing Total Course Score.
Universal AI Modules are designed with two different types of graded Coursework:
Knowledge Checks
These are smaller multiple-choice questions, covering individual lectures/sections of the Module, that are designed to test your understanding of the concepts taught in each section of the Module. Knowledge Checks typically provide learners with three submission attempts. Knowledge Checks contribute 20% of your Total Course Score
Assignments
These are also sets of multiple-choice questions, but are larger in scope, typically covering all the material covered in the Module. They are designed to test your mastery of the concepts and your ability to apply your knowledge. Assignments provide learners with varying numbers of submission attempts, depending on the various criteria, including the complexity. Assignments contribute the remaining 80% of your Total Course Score
Coursework Submission Attempts
Most Universal AI Coursework questions provide multiple attempts to submit a correct answer. The Courseware will always clearly indicate, for each question, the total number of allowed submission attempts and how many attempts you have already used. This information is presented next to the Coursework's “Submit” button. It is displayed in the following format: "You have used 0 of 3 attempts".
Your Course Score
When you complete and submit correct Coursework answers within a Foundations Module or Vertical Course, you will earn a certain amount of Course Score. Different types of Coursework will contribute more or less, but you can track the Total Course Score you have currently earned on your Courseware's Progress Page.
Passing and Earning Certificates
Once your Total Course Score, as shown on the Courseware's Progress Page, equals or exceeds the passing score, you will pass! The passing score for Universal AI is 60%.
Once you pass a Foundations Module or a Vertical Course, the learning platform will issue your Module Certificate or Course Certificate within the next 24 hours.
Once you pass the last remaining Module in a Foundations Course, you will receive both the Module Certificate and the corresponding Course Certificate within the next 24 hours.
And once you pass the last remaining Module for your last remaining Foundations Course, you will receive the Module Certificate, its corresponding Course Certificate, and the Universal AI Program Certificate within the next 24 hours.
Note: Foundations Course 1 and its Modules do not award certificates, but their completion criteria is otherwise identical to the other Foundations Courses and Modules. (Details above)
Important Note About the Program CertificateThe Universal AI Program Certificate is currently available only to learners who purchase the Universal AI Program Bundle. While the components of the Program Certificate are available for individual purchase (or free enrollment), no "upgrade" option is currently available—though we hope to offer one soon. This means that learners who purchase any number of Universal AI Foundations Courses individually, but later want to earn the Program Certificate, can only become eligible for that certificate by also purchasing the Universal AI Program Bundle at its reqular price. |
