We understand the importance and value of being able to revisit learning materials, both for ongoing learning and reference purposes, so we're happy to be able to provide persistent access to Universal AI content when purchased.

Once you purchase and enroll in Universal AI program content, like Foundations Modules and Vertical Courses, you will retain access to that content effectively indefinitely, for as long as it is feasible to maintain the content on our servers.

However, it is also important to understand that Universal AI purchases also come with a one-year Subscription Period. During the Subscription Period, you will be provided with access to additional and updated content, and after the Subscription Period ends, your access to some features will be restricted. As we continue to improve and expand the content of the Universal AI program and its Courses & Modules, you can expect to gain access to new and updated content for one year after purchase. Afterward, you will no longer receive access to content updates or new content (including any new Vertical Courses). You will retain access to all of your purchased content, as it existed at the termination of your Subscription Period, but you will no longer be able to earn additional certificates. Any certificates you earn during the Subscription Period will be unaffected and will remain accessible to you.

The Universal AI program is available for purchase both altogether as a Program Bundle, and separately as individual Courses. Specific Universal AI Modules are not available for individual purchase. For more information about purchase options, see this FAQ article

Purchase of the Universal AI Program Bundle or an individual Foundations Course or Vertical Course provides one year (the Subscription Period) of full access to the Universal AI program, which includes:

During the Subscription Period

1. Access to the purchased content, as well as any content updates that are released. For each purchase option, this includes:
   • Program Bundle Purchase: All five Universal AI Foundations Courses and their Modules, every Universal AI Vertical Course available at the time of purchase, and any Vertical Courses that are released
   • Individual Foundations Course Purchase: All Modules that belong to the Course
   • Individual Vertical Course Purchase: All content that belongs to the Course
2. The ability to complete Coursework and earn Module Certificates, Course Certificates, and (for Program Bundle purchasers only) the Universal AI Program Certificate
3. Access to and use of the AskTIM AI assistant within Universal AI Courseware

After the Subscription Period

Once the one-year Subscription Period ends:

• You will retain access to all of the Course Content for all of the Universal AI content you purchased, as it was available to you during the Subscription Period, indefinitely
• You will not receive any further updates to that content or access to any subsequently released content (for example, additional Vertical Courses)
• You will no longer be able to complete Coursework or earn additional certificates for Universal AI content

The end of your Subscription Period does not affect availability or access to any Universal AI certificates, of any kind, that you may have earned during the Subscription Period. Once awarded, Certificates are permanent unless revoked (see MIT Learn Honor Code for more information).

Persistent Content Access: Additional Information

While learners receive persistent access to content they purchase and/or enroll in (which may vary between products), it is important to understand that this access cannot be guaranteed permanently. Future updates to the specific Courseware, the learning platform, and/or the web environment may alter, restrict, or prevent learner access to certain materials over time.

For example, products may provide access to certain kinds of downloadable materials within their Courseware, like PDFs or videos, which may eventually become inaccessible.

Learners interested in preserving full access to Course Materials are strongly encouraged to download and keep copies of the relevant material from their Universal AI Courseware. Any materials that you download during your access to the content (in accordance with the rules) will never be restricted, so we strongly recommend that you make backups of material you wish to ensure continued access to.
