To earn the Verified Course Certificate for an SDS MicroMasters course you must do all of the following:
- Enroll in a course session: Find a current or upcoming session of the course, via the SDS Upcoming Dates page and enroll in it!
- Upgrade your enrollment to the Certificate (Paid) track: Either submit payment for the course session (if you are purchasing SDS courses individually) or apply the Paid Course Entitlement (if you purchased the SDS Program Bundle). You must upgrade before the Verification (Payment) Deadline of a course!
- Complete the course and earn a passing score: Complete the coursework, assessments, and the Final Exam to earn a Course Score of 60% or above. Coursework must be submitted before its due date to count towards your Course Score.
When Is My Course's Verification (Payment) Deadline?
The Verification (Payment) Deadline for each SDS MicroMasters course is prominently displayed within the courseware in several places, including: on the courseware home page in the right-side "Important Dates" section, within the introductory courseware module, and in the "Dates" tab.
In general, the Verification Deadline for most SDS MicroMasters course sessions is about 4-8 weeks after the scheduled start date of the session. However, each course session sets its own specific deadline, so please carefully check your course session.
Enrollment and Payment Deadlines work differently for the program's two Assessment Courses—14.310Fx and the Capstone Exam. The Payment Deadline is typically less than two weeks after the scheduled Start Date of the course session—so be sure to double-check the exact Payment Deadline for those two courses once you are enrolled!
Caution: The Payment Deadline for course sessions cannot be extended. This means that if you fail to upgrade your enrollment before the deadline for any reason, you will not be able to upgrade, take the course's Final Exam, or earn the Course Certificate, and you will need to wait for a future session of the course to do so.
Note: SDS MicroMasters learners pursuing the Social Sciences or Time Series and Social Sciences Program Tracks must complete a pre-requisite content course, 14.310x before taking the assessment course, 14.310Fx. However, SDS learners do not pay for 14.310x.
