Learners are free to enroll in any SCM MicroMasters course sessions that are open for enrollment. However, while it is possible to be enrolled in sessions of multiple SCM courses, it is not possible to take multiple SCM courses concurrently. The staggered schedule of SCM course availability means that there is no time during which all of the SCM courses are running at the same time.
Additionally, the SCM MicroMasters Team generally recommends that most learners complete the SCM courses in sequential order, which provides a non-overlapping schedule—though learners are not required to do so.
- Staggered Availability: Each SCM course is only available during certain time periods. Course availability is staggered such that a few are available at any time, and a natural progression through the five SCM courses is possible. See the SCM Schedule of Course Availability for details
- Instructor-Paced: Each SCM course session runs during a set time period, with a specific Start Date and End Date. Access to Course Content becomes available only after the Start Date. Course Material is released on a schedule, and all Coursework has a strict due date (though SC0x is special, see this article for more information)
- Recommended Course Order: We generally recommend that most learners complete the SCM courses in sequential order: SC0x, SC1x, SC2x, SC3x, and SC4x—followed by the Comprehensive Final Exam (CFx). This approach ensures a solid foundation, building on the knowledge and skills learned in earlier courses
